“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

- Carl Rogers -

I am a fully qualified counsellor experienced in working with teenagers and adults. I have both personal and professional experience of over 10 years with neurodiversity.

It is my belief as human beings we are all capable of acceptance, compassion, empathy, self-fulfilment, and so much more, but sometimes everyday life can be more challenging than we think ourselves capable of handling. It is in those moments we often seek validation from those around us, rather than listening to our most inner guiding voice. We seek safety in others ‘knowing better’, when in truth each of us is the expert on our own needs, abilities, and dreams. We lose the connection with our authentic self, putting on a mask to conform to external pressures and expectations not healthy for our body, mind, and soul. It can become hard to see the good in ourselves and the world around us.

I have walked this path away from my authentic self in the past. It is easy to be swept up in those few, yet loud negative voices around us. Sometimes, you will be able to navigate this yourself, other times you may not. During those moments, let me stand beside you. Let me help you drown out the negativity, find your way back and embrace your true self.

When working with you I will be non-judgemental, honest, respectful, empathetic, and compassionate. As an integrative counsellor I have many therapeutic interventions available in my toolbox, which can be applied to meet your specific, unique needs. Some of the techniques I may draw on include humanistic approaches, Gestalt, Inner Child Work, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), psychodynamic counselling, mindfulness, creative arts therapies, Walk and Talk therapy, and many more.

I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.

One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.
